I created this painting from my imagination. This is part of a tonal, semi-abstract, minimalist series. My goal was to create a fall, pond-side scene, with somber, warm, browns, ambers and golds. To create atmosphere, I kept the brushwork light and soft to give a misty and dreamlike appearance without detail. I imagined a late day sun while walking through the forest in fall and coming upon a view of a pond. Such peace and quietness and the joy of being still in these moments.
