I created this painting from my imagination, wanting to give the viewer the sensation of being up in the clouds, as if floating through and with them. A dramatic interplay of light and clouds dominates the scene, conveying a sense of a powerful natural event. Rays of light break through the cloud cover, suggesting either a sunrise or a sunset obscured by heavy clouding.
